Alan Keyes: Fighting the Fighting Irish

By Keenan on Thursday, May 14, 2009 in News & Commentary | Worldview

key-ndOn May 08, 2009, Alan Keyes, former ambassador and presidential candidate, along with several other protesters, was arrested on the Campus of Nortre Dame. Keyes and the protesters were there to demonstrate against the school’s decision to invite pro-abortionist Barrack Obama to speak at their commencement ceremony and that the school will be giving the President an honorary degree.

The very odd thing here is that Keyes was arrested at the behest of the school’s president, ‘Father’ John Jenkins, a catholic priest, for trespassing. Imagine that, anti-abortion, pro life advocates arrested at the request of a catholic priest. Do you see the irony; the hypocrisy?

Keyes is now requesting to meet with Jenkins superior and wrote a letter which in part reads, “The posture of indifference to evil and contempt for right action exemplified by his behavior promotes culpable moral apathy in the community of the faithful, encouraging in Catholics and others the lukewarm disposition which the Scripture tells us is most emphatically rejected by Christ.”
