Sarah Palin Factor Alive and Well

By Anthony on Saturday, October 31, 2009 in General | Media | News & Commentary | Politics

PALIN CABINETAfter Sarah Palin stepped down as Alaska’s governor, people immediately started to write her off politically. I’m assuming she needed a break from all the frivolous lawsuits the left hit her with, to try and bankrupt her. Enduring many attacks, based on lies, Sarah Palin reemerged as a survivor and unashamed supporter of conservative politics.  With her book “Going Rogue” achieving “Best Seller” status prior to its release, Palin appears to be a even more of a force now than when she was a vice presidential candidate.

As a surprise to everyone, Palin announced her support for Doug Hoffman, a Conservative candidate in NY’s 23rd District Congressional race. For those who suspected Palin’s influence was a thing of the past, there are things to consider. Bill Owens is supported by the DNC and Barack Obama himself. There was a fundraiser in New York City, featuring Barack Obama. I think the cost was around $20-$30,000 a plate. That’s even more than an endorsement, that’s all out support. Today the Republican candidate backed down, despite the support from the RNC and many high power endorsements.

When Sarah Palin announced her support for Doug Hoffman, that drew much attention from many media outlets. She doesn’t have a horse in the race, but being a believer in conservatism, she took a stand. I think she will support a real conservative candidate no matter where they run. From that one endorsement, Hoffman has gained so much notoriety he seems to on the road to victory. So I think we can conclude that the Palin factor is still alive and well. Obama is supporting many failing Democratic candidates in many races across this country. It seems the Obama factor is turning toxic. How long did that take? 9 months to be exact. So much for the honeymoon.

It seems no matter how much the media and others have gone after her she seems to be the one prevailing.

  1. Sarah Palin does have a rather large supporter base. Its hilarious when some of them are interviewed and cannot explain why they support her. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/23/palin-supporters-struggle_n_367800.html

Mr. Obama remains a potent fund-raising draw. Plunging into the 2010 midterm campaigns last week, he raised more than $3 million in one night in San Francisco, speaking at a similar $30,400-a-couple dinner and a larger rally with tickets at $1,000 and under.

In addition to the big-ticket dinner on Tuesday, Mr. Obama will also address a more small-d democratic event at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom, where roughly 2,500 donors paying $1,000 or less will also make cellphone calls to promote his health care overhaul.

James Carvil and Paul Begala have both sent out emails to raise funds to counter “the Palin effect,” and show support for 0bama. They have essentially made this a contest between 0bama and Palin. Since then we have seen Scozzofava suspend her campaign, and polls showing that the race is dead even and others showing Hoffman ahead. Carvil and Begala may very well regret that they made this an 0bama Palin race. I hope they send out an email announcing that Palin defeated 0bama.
