Obama’s Agenda Continues To Put Troops at Risk

obama-montagePresident Barack Obama took the opportunity on veterans day to spit in the face of the entire military, from the top brass to the newest E-1. In what amounts to utter disrespect and blissful ignorance, he has rejected ALL of his war options by HIS national security team. Mr. President, if you have such great ideas, why don’t YOU speak up. It’s painfully obvious that President Obama is waiting for someone to tell him what he wants to hear. That seems to be how he operates. If someone else says it, he doesn’t have to take the blame.

We should all remember that this is a president doesn’t like to use the word victory (as HE stated during an Interview), nor does he use the word terrorism (man-made disaster). Perhaps all President Obama needs is a new word for retreat. I am sickened by his procrastination while our men and women operate without the resources they need in strange lands. President Obama is in a rush to hand this war over to the Afghan government, if there is such a thing.

One must ask this question of our president, “What makes a wet behind the ears politician, who has never served in the military and emanates weakness, believe he understands the situation in Afghanistan better?” We have Generals who have studied at war colleges. Are their assessments not good enough? Is their advice not pertinent to what is going on? Or is it that they are not proposing ideas that fit neatly into the president’s agenda? I’ll assume the latter. The generals have been asking for an approved strategy (publicly) since September. Unfortunately for those fighting the war, their commander in chief has been ignoring them. He’s been off fund raising for Democratic candidates, picking fights with Fox News, golfing, bidding unsuccessfully for the Olympics, trying to ram health care down our throats and now doing his Asia tour(probably to apologize for something we did a long time ago). All this while people die in Afghanistan waiting for his decision.

This approach to the military is disgraceful and absurd. Stop listening to what the president is saying and notice what he’s doing. Notice his priorities through his actions. He is more concerned with Fox News than his troops. He is more concerned with shout-outs at press conferences, than addressing the people seriously and somberly during a time of tragedy at home (Fort Hood Massacre). Our military has taken a back seat to his agenda and it comes at a very high cost. His speeches on Veterans’ day are overshadowed by his indifference towards the knowledgeable people who are trying to create circumstances to win this war. Arrogance and weakness continue to be the dominant traits of this president. It’s time for the people to demand that this president gets serious about the wars our men and women are fighting. Liberals and conservatives should be lined up around the capitol, demanding that the generals get what they need to ensure our troops come home as soon as possible. Stop putting off your responsibility Mr President and Get To Work.

All in, or get out. The right way to fight a war is to go in gunz blazin and destroy the enemy completely. Pound the country into submission, then rebuild it the way you want it. The way we fight wars now is like, “excuse me, can I use my gun here? Oh, an air strike is coming so make sure everyone is out of the way.” “Sorry about bombing your farm, here’s $100,000 to fix it up.”

So I say, kill everyone who is not willing to surrender. When that’s done. We’re done. Otherwise, we should just leave. Anything else is not war, its just policing. Which is stupid.

I leave that up to the Generals in charge. The set objectives and meet them when they have the resources they need. Victory is not trying to gain political capitol with the lives of troops. If you are not willing to listen to your Generals, go home.

Please define what a “victory in Afghanistan” would be.
