Health Care Passes House, Senate Next

By Anthony on Sunday, November 8, 2009 in General | News & Commentary | Obamarama | Politics

obama doctorIn a Saturday night vote, that Nancy Pelosi decided was best for the American people, the House passed a health care bill. Why try to do it while people are paying attention? It seems that the American people are being pushed to the point of booting every member of congress. After all, why should a congress, with an approval rating of 29%, care what the PEOPLE think? I’ll tell you why, because there is going to be hell to pay in the 2010 elections. Just ask Harry Reid. The American people are tire of politicians hijacking our money to do what they think is best, even if it is a violation of the constitution and our freedom.

This country was founded by people who revolted against such actions. Taxing people to death and ignoring the outcry to preserve personal freedoms led to a revolution in the 1700’s. We are a free people in this country and if anyone tries to get between us and freedom, they will be out of a job. A health care bill that impacts rights and freedoms is not something you pass on a Saturday night, unless you are a powerless cowards like the idiots in the House of Non-Representatives. If the Senate is not wise enough to put an end to this bill we will elect people who will repeal it into their positions. I am tired of Barack Obama and his socialist friends trying to hijack my country. Health care is only the first step. They progressives have already started to discuss climate change legislation, as if we are done talking about health care.

I hope Nancy Pelosi is booted from her position by someone who actually cares about the people. She serves the president and his agenda, and does not serve the people. The government is trying to be the source of your prosperity, but has only been everything that holds you back. I hope they included BOTOX in the health care bill for Nancy Pelosi and John Kerry.

I have one message to the Senate, vote NO or lose your jobs. I told you John Corzine would lose his job, don’t make me say who’s next!

  1. How’s that Kool-Aid Aaron? We can reform the system in different ways, let’s not just accept any old plan, and assume that politicians aren’t making a power grab. I am not ready to exchange my rights for security. That’s just me. If you don’t think the people matter than you have a severe problem.
It’s not the governments business to complete in the market. Where did you get that idea?

There are always going to be people who look to the government for charity, crying “oh please make life fair!”
Here’s charity: My friend went to the local hospital becauseshe had kidney issues. The bill, when all was said and done, was $58,000. The hospital asked for $5,800 or so. That is charity and not from the government. Remember, we can reform the system with things that work, not things that have historically failed.

I’d rather the government actually do something positive to raise their approval rating from 29%.

I’m not a big fan of the government running my health care either, but I can’t afford insurance as it is, not to mention the fact that even if I could it might be canceled at the drop of a hat. We as a country should move towards a solution, even if we need to readjust later.

The divide between the rich and poor in the country is growing greater each generation, as is the cost of healthcare. Do you really want to cling to a naive dream that “The people” really matter? It seems to be mostly a money game. Why do you think the insurance companies are spending more than ever to lobby congress?

I’d much rather have a level playing field, even if I don’t like some of the players. Unfortunately, this is an example of where the “free market” fails. Once a corporation stops caring about it’s customers, and only cares about the shareholders, there is a problem. Especially when there is limited competition, and they like to golf together.

There is a difference between the Government taking over your local grocery store, and the government opening it’s own because the only store you have to choose from overcharges. It has nothing to do with some crazy socialist plot, it’s more about preventing fascism.

    quote from wikipedia:

[Fascism is] a genuinely revolutionary, trans-class form of anti-liberal, and in the last analysis, anti-conservative nationalism. As such it is an ideology deeply bound up with modernization and modernity, one which has assumed a considerable variety of external forms to adapt itself to the particular historical and national context in which it appears, and has drawn a wide range of cultural and intellectual currents, both left and right, anti-modern and pro-modern, to articulate itself as a body of ideas, slogans, and doctrine. In the inter-war period it manifested itself primarily in the form of an elite-led “armed party” which attempted, mostly unsuccessfully, to generate a populist mass movement through a liturgical style of politics and a programme of radical policies which promised to overcome a threat posed by international socialism, to end the degeneration affecting the nation under liberalism, and to bring about a radical renewal of its social, political and cultural life as part of what was widely imagined to be the new era being inaugurated in Western civilization. The core mobilizing myth of fascism which conditions its ideology, propaganda, style of politics and actions is the vision of the nation’s imminent rebirth from decadence.

I agree totally with you Anthony. Am just feeling sick about this tonight…physically. I am an old lady who is a high risk patient. I have some handicapped grandchildren. These evil immoral people in congress are going to do away with us by denying care…medical equipment, etc….they will decide who is “worthy”. Am ashamed that Pelosi professes to be a Catholic…we are supposed to honor and value all life…old, young, handicapped, unborn, etc. She is an abomination. Tonight I feel ashamed of the thoughts and feelings I am having because as a Christian it is wrong, but then another thought comes through…how else are we to feel about evil. Our country is being trashed, our morals are being trashed, everything is going to hell in a hand basket. Maybe in 2010, we can put good people in D.C….and since we have had other bills repealed…perhaps with a miracle and hard work…this bill will be repealed.
