Eric Holder Finds Way to Try Bush Administration

By Anthony on Monday, November 23, 2009 in General | Media | Military | News & Commentary | Obamarama | Politics

eric-holder-barack-obaMARecently, I’ve heard much about Eric Holder’s decision to try terrorists in Federal courts. Some argue over whether it’s constitutional or not, and some just plain hate it on an emotional level. However you feel, if you listen to some of the things being said, you cannot help but cringe. For example, I do not feel better that Holder and Obama have ensured us that these terrorist will be found guilty. That makes the trials sound fixed, even before they’ve begun. Is this justice? How do you think that will improve our image around the world? (I ask that because it seems to be what Obama is obsessed with) Holder will also seek the death penalty in these cases, so he says.

There are a few problems I have with the decision to try these terrorists in Federal courts, and not military tribunals. First, let me state that there are formalities that go along with being arrested as a civilian that don’t pertain to terrorists captured abroad. When the police apprehend a civilian, they must read them their rights. Those rights are what protects the evidence obtained from a confession. Did Khalid Sheik Mohammed know his rights before he confessed? Was he provided with council right away? Not likely. Was he given the right to a speedy trial? Not exactly. Do you see a pattern developing here? Is Eric Holder going to get these thing waved in court somehow? We’ll have to wait and see.

Let’s look at the fact that all of the terrorists Holder is looking to try in civilian courts have confessed, and wanted to plead guilty in a military tribunal. Knowing that, how can Eric holder say he is more likely to get a conviction in federal court? That is illogical. It seems like an open and shut case, why drag things out? Well, the answer came yesterday by way of one of these terrorists’ lawyers. This is what the AP reported:

A lawyer for one of five men facing trial for the Sept. 11 attacks says the men plan to plead not guilty and use the trial to express their political views. He says the men will explain “their assessment of American foreign policy.” Attorney Scott Fenstermaker says his client Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali and the others will not deny their role in the 2001 attacks but will tell the jury “why they did it.”

This is exactly what I suspected would happen. They still, in a sense, are pleading guilty, but they will be able to testify about all of the classified actions we take to keep this country safe. They will submit classified evidence and expose it to the world. This is how the current administration gets the previous adminstration on trial. This country will not be better for it, but much worse. What does Eric Holder care? He looks as us as a nation of cowards. He is being used as a tool by Obama. This is the perfect way for Obama to satisfy his uber left base, and keep his name off of it.

I have one last question. Where will these people go if they some how get off? I suppose at that point, we’ll have to provide them refuge here. That thought makes me sick. It is my conviction that the US Constitution does not apply to people captured on foreign battlefields. People who are in other countries that plot massive attacks, that resemble military strikes, that start wars, do not have the protection of a document created to form a more perfect union. Americans are under the constitution and perhaps people who operate from within our borders. Can we apply our constitution anywhere we want? Why isn’t someone taking Chavez, Castro, or Ahmadinejad to court for supressing their people’s first amendment right? That would be because it doesn’t apply.

Honey get the kids, the circus is coming to town!

  1. Actually, it has become politically incorrect to say no to a liberal democrat. To relate it to race is just foolish.

I don’t get it. Is the problem we are to “polictically correct” to say no to a black man? Obama is like the pied piper leading America off a cliff. Time to wake up and say NO MORE!!

I personally think they should be tried in Military court as war criminals. As far as I can tell, the only reason for the civilian courts in NYC is to try and bash the previous administration. Its purely political and quite obviously so. If they are convicted, they should be sentenced to life in prison in a 23/1 super max isolation unit. That’s 23 hours in a cell, 1 hour alone in a guarded exercise area. They can only have contact with military guards in the new DOD War Prison (wherever that may be) for the rest of the pathetic lives. In this way, their whole purpose in life will be nullified. Martyrdom will not happen and they will be reduced to the broken weak cowards they are. If we do execute them, it will only further their cause. I am normally for the death penalty, but not when it helps the enemy cause. If we did execute them, it should be public and it should be a painful and and awful sight to behold… like they do in Saudi. Otherwise, don’t bother.

A Federal judge can throw this out of court, they were not advised or there rights ( maranda )
and other techinicalitys. They are presioners of war and should be tried in a military court. Why not just let it get thrown out of court and let them free in NYC ground Zero. That would be justice. Our
